CYPRUS — A HEART FULL OF SUNSHINE, SEA BREEZES & FAMILY

Cyprus: Will capture your heart

Cyprus beach club hotel

There are some places that don’t just capture your imagination — they capture your heart.

For me, Cyprus is one of those places. A magnificent Mediterranean island that feels both ancient and young, wild and welcoming, vast and intimate all at once. It’s a place where history breathes in the warm air, where the sea sparkles as if dusted in diamonds, and where every single trip feels like coming home.

I’m incredibly lucky when I visit Cyprus — not just because it’s a stunning destination, but because my favourite cousin, her wonderful husband, and their beautiful children live there. They’re just outside of Limassol, and truly, some of the happiest memories of my life are made in their home. There is laughter echoing through the rooms, children running and playing, and most days you’ll find me sitting in the kitchen with my cousin while she cooks something delicious and we talk for hours — catching up, reminiscing, laughing like no time has passed at all.

Cyprus is huge — a grand island with endless corners to explore — and every visit reminds me just how much more there is to see. But oh, the places we have discovered together…

Coastal Magic & Crystal Waters

From the golden beaches of Paphos, where the sun melts into the horizon in hues of rose-gold, to the magical Blue Caves reachable only by boat — Cyprus is a dream for ocean lovers. We’ve taken incredible boat tours where the sea shifts from deep sapphire to glass-clear turquoise in a heartbeat. There’s nothing like diving into that water — cool, refreshing, unbelievably clear — and just floating, listening to the gentle hum of Mediterranean life around you.

The stunning waters of Cyprus

The coastline between Limassol and Larnaca reveals beach after beach, each with its own charm — family-friendly sands, quiet local coves, lively stretches with music, sunbeds and cocktails in hand. Then inland, the mountains rise — cool pine-scented havens and charming villages where life moves slowly and every cafe feels like a secret.

We’ve wandered through Nicosia, feeling the pull of history and culture, and crossed over to the Turkish side, experiencing the beautiful blend of traditions, architecture, and flavours that makes Cyprus so uniquely special.

Ayia Napa — More Than a Party Town

Last time we were there, we visited Ayia Napa — and oh my goodness, what a surprise. Yes, it has its lively side, but beyond that there is pure natural beauty.

Nissi Beach is like something pulled straight from a postcard — calm waters, soft sand, sunlight dancing across gentle waves. The dramatic sea caves nearby are breathtaking, sculpted by time and tide and perfect for exploring.

There’s also an incredible underwater museum here — MUSAN (Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa) — an immersive sculpture park beneath the sea. I haven’t made it there yet, but it’s high on my list for next time. (Search for MUSAN Ayia Napa — it’s a must-see if you love underwater adventures!)

The Beautiful Bridge of Love.

A Place That Feels Like Home

Cyprus isn’t just somewhere we visit — it’s somewhere that wraps around us like a warm embrace. It’s where our children play together without pause, where meals turn into memories, where Greek culture meets family laughter and warm evening breezes.

We’ve even talked about moving there — more than once — just to be closer to my cousin and soak in that sunshine-filled lifestyle every day. It’s that kind of place. A dream, a sanctuary, a home away from home.

Until that day comes, we’ll keep returning, hearts full and bags packed, ready to discover more of this remarkable island — from hidden coves to mountain villages, ancient ruins to sparkling beaches.

Cyprus has my heart.

And if you go — I have no doubt it will capture yours too.
